“Travel across the globe while staying right here in Philadelphia this fall with GlobalPhilly 2013, an internationally focused exposition of multicultural events and activities in the greater Philadelphia region.
From September 15 through November 1, Global Philly 2013 draws together dozens and dozens of events — some well-known annual events, some created specifically for the exposition — with the overarching goal of simply showcasing Philadelphia as a thriving, global city.
Thus far, more than 75 events are scheduled under the Global Philly platform, and each is presented by such organizations as the International Visitors Council, the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant and Multicultural Affairs, the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia and the United Nations Association of Greater Philadelphia.
Additionally, Global Philly embraces events organized by the City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program, University City Science Center, Penn Museum, the Center for Emerging Visual Artists and many more.
The range of events encompassed in the expo is enormous, and includes everything from Global Philly 2013 dishes on menus at seven top restaurants and a dinner honoring Jose Garces, to the annual Mexican Independence Day celebration at Penn’s Landing and the Free Library of Philadelphia Global Culture Digital Exposition.
With so many various cultural happenings, engaging with the exposition will be as easy as choosing an interest or a culture, and heading out to enjoy the international flavors of Philadelphia.”
