Get Crafty At “GO WEST!”

If you like shopping, festivals, or artsy creations, you’re in for a treat! This Saturday Philadelphia plays host to the “GO WEST!” Craft Fest. From 11 am to 5 pm, there will be dozens of artists selling unique crafts. Musical performances will happen from 12-3, and the festival will also feature a circus act! While you’re there, be sure to explore The Woodlands, the 54-acre estate where the festivities will take place. To get to The Woodlands, take the R-100 to 69th Street, and then the Market Frankford line to 40th Street. After getting to 40th Street, The Woodlands are a 15-minute walk away. A Notewordy Show

Wild for the spoken word? Then come to The Rotunda this Friday night! At 8 PM, the Five Minute Follies will perform their show “Telling Stories”, and tickets are just $10 if you buy in advance. To get to The Rotunda, take the R-100 train to 69th Street, and then the Market-Frankford Line to 40th Street. From 40th Street Station, the theatre is a five-minute walk away. Calling All Feminists!

If you like avant-garde theater, feminist culture, or both, you have one night left to see  the “UNTITLED FEMINIST SHOW”! Tomorrow night at 9 P.M., the Suzanne Roberts Theatre hosts this fresh, artful piece of work. As visitphilly.com describes the show, ” six charismatic stars of the downtown theater, dance, cabaret, and burlesque worlds come together to invite the audience on an exhilaratingly irreverent, nearly-wordless celebration of a fluid and limitless sense of identity.” Student tickets are just $18. Do you love the beautiful buildings in Philly? Wander through the Philadelphia Center for Architecture’s postcard exhibit. It is available until October 15th and is very easy to get to. Start the weekend off with a bang!

Are you a fan of fireworks? Then come to the Race Street Pier this Friday night! The fireworks display is completely free, and goes from 9-10 pm. To get to the pier, take the R-100 train (near the Bryn Mawr Hospital and Wawa)  to 69th Street, then take the Market-Frankford Line to 2nd Street.
