The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society offers student subscriptions for $30 for a season. Regular price tickets for one show are about $25! The subscription is UNLIMITED, so you can attend as many of their 60 (more or less) shows throughout the year! What’s awesome about this deal is that the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society offers a diversity of classical music and musicians. Tony Danza, who has starred in movies, television shows, and Broadway plays, is coming to the Central Library this Saturday! Did we mention he’s also written two books? His latest work is titled “I’d Like to Apologize to Every Teacher I’ve Ever Had: My Year as a Rookie Teacher at Northeast High.” If you think this sounds interesting, you’re not alone: Tony Danza’s teaching career was orchestrated and filmed for a reality TV show! Farmers’ Markets are hard not to love; spending time outdoors and buying some guilt-free, delicious food can make anyone feel refreshed. However, if you’re like me, it can be difficult to give up your Saturday mornings to go to the Bryn Mawr Farmers’ Market. Maybe you’d like to explore some different ones to find the best crafts, chocolate, and flowers in addition to veggies/fruits. Maybe (just maybe) weekly Farmers’ Markets just aren’t enough for you. Want to eat yummy Mexican food and celebrate Mexican culture? Come to the Mexican Independence Day Festival this Sunday, September 16th! From 1-7 P.M. in the Great Plaza at Penn’s Landing, there will be a great variety of Mexican food, music and dancing. You can enjoy all of the attractions for free, but be sure to buy a souvenir! The fair will feature artists and craftspeople selling their work. This Saturday at Temple University, the troupe “Call Me Crazy Dancers” will integrate several genres of dance with original music and poetry during its fun-filled show.
